About Camp Rena My Mission The Camp Rena Collection was created to help others develop a full complement of recreation leadership skills. Many of the resources and much of the time formerly available to train and develop recreation leaders has declined over the years due to social and economic changes. I want to provide the best recreation leadership resources in forms most useful to today's varied recreation providers. All materials are created and chosen for their uniqueness, high quality of content, and ease-of-use. Part of my mission is to collect and publish classic camp songs, games, and traditions for use by future generations.   Rena Azevedo Dein   My Experience I'm currently Recreation Supervisor of Teens & Community Programming for the City of Fremont, CA. This award-winning department features Youth Service Corps (a teen community service program), Y.O.U.T.H Today teen newspaper, a Youth Advisory Commission, annual Jr. High conferences, 10 summer playground sites, and a Teen Information Hotline and newsletter. I have over 20 years of professional experience in recreation, including serving as a program coordinator for the cities of Sunnyvale and Vallejo, CA, special events coordinator, day camp director, assistant manager of a public picnic grounds, preschool program specialist, Boys & Girls Club art director, day-care assistant, and substitute public school teacher. I'm active as a leader and workshop presenter for California Parks & Recreation Society and the California/Pacific Southwest Park and Recreation Conference, and California School Age Consortium. Past groups I have worked with include Redwood Recreation Leadership Laboratory, and Professionals in Leadership, Leisure and Recreation Services. A graduate of San Francisco State University, I hold a B.A. in Recreation and Leisure Studies and an A.A. in Therapeutic Recreation. I grew up in Pacifica, CA.
